Payroll Officer

We seeking a full-time or part-time Payroll Officer to join our Accounting team in Fyshwick. 

Some key responsibilities are

• Processing weekly and monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy in calculations of hours worked, overtime, and deductions, etc.
• Maintaining employee records related to payroll data,
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation regarding tax laws and employment standards,
• Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters,
• Preparing statutory filings such as PAYE returns, and insurance, redundancy and long service contributions,
• Generating reports for management detailing payroll expenses, trends, and forecasts.

To be considered for this role you will require

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a payroll or finance-related role,
• Proficient in the use of Xero payroll software,
• Excellent attention to detail,
• Knowledge of payroll legislation and construction enterprise agreements,
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal,
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information,
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
