Walker Ceramics Australia are leading Australian manufacturer of Clays and Glazes, catering to the pottery industry, professional potters, schools and hobbyists.  Complimenting our manufacturing range we also provide raw materials, tools and equipment to both our distributors and direct customers.

The Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Sales Assistant to join our hardworking team on a full time basis, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm; Wednesday 8.30am to 5pm.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position will include the following:

• Processing orders from online, telephone and email

• Dealing with customer inquiries in a professional manner

• Build and maintain customer relationships and ensure customer satisfaction

• Providing customer quotes, including calculating freight

• Handle incoming phone calls

• Processing customer payments

• Reconciling AR Aging on a weekly basis

• Respond to emails

• Assisting various departments as required

Skills & Experience

To be successful for this position, you will meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a customer service role (product based)

• Experience processing sales orders with accurate data entry

• Possess an excellent telephone manner and the ability to handle customers professionally

• Strong computer skills using Outlook and Microsoft Office - MYOB Acumatica/ Advanced ideal but not essential

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ability to follow procedures

• Strong attention to detail

• Have the ability to pick up new systems quickly

• Experience or knowledge within the pottery and ceramics industry an advantage

This full time position is for an immediate start.
