About the role
As a Graduate Fire Services Engineer, you will produce fire protection designs and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Revit, working under the supervision of our senior engineers. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and high-quality drawings and documentation to support our fire services projects. You’ll be working closely with the design manager to learn how to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
What you will be doing
· Interpreting project briefs, Australian Standards, the NCC and authority requirements
· Preparation of fire protection designs (sprinkler, hydrant, and fire detection/alarm systems)
· Development of block plans, as-built drawings, tactical fire plans, and evacuation diagrams
· Collaborating with the project team to ensure compliance with Australian standards and client requirements
· Completing hydraulic calculations using industry recognized software
· Attending project and client meetings and assisting with services coordination
· Undertaking site inspections, audits and investigations
· Preparing technical reports, specifications and compliance documentation
· Assisting with certification documentation for engineer review and sign-off
· Liaising with building certifiers, councils, fire authorities, consultants and contractors
About you
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
· Willingness to learn AutoCAD, Revit and hydraulic modelling software Hyena.
· Strong communication and organisational skills
· Self-motivated, accountable and solution-focused
· A general understanding of construction project delivery and commercial principles
· Willingness to develop technically and keep up to date with industry practice
