MDFM provides maintenance and asset management services to aged care and retirement living organisations across Australia.
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Officer to support a well-established residential aged care facility located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys a varied workload, takes pride in their work, and is committed to maintaining a safe and well-presented environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
About the Role
As the Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day maintenance activities and coordinating repairs to ensure the facility and its assets remain safe, functional, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Complete routine maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance activities.
Attend to maintenance requests and rectify building defects.
Undertake minor repairs including basic carpentry, patching, painting and general building maintenance.
Inspect the site and proactively identify maintenance requirements.
Coordinate and supervise external contractors including electricians, plumbers, roofers and other trades.
Monitor contractor compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Maintain maintenance records, work orders and asset information within the facility's maintenance management system.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for residents.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in building, facilities or property maintenance.
Practical skills across a range of general maintenance tasks.
The ability to identify maintenance issues and take a proactive approach to resolving them.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills and confidence using maintenance management systems.
A commitment to workplace health and safety.
Experience within aged care, healthcare, retirement living or a similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
