About the role
Palermo Perfumes is one of Australia's leading designer-inspired fragrance retailers, with over 60 stores nationwide and an extensive collection of more than 1,600 fragrances. As we continue to expand across Australia, we're looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources Advisor to support our growing workforce and help drive a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
About the RoleReporting to the executive leadership team, you will provide both strategic and operational HR support across our retail stores and head office. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and enjoys partnering with leaders to deliver practical people solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide expert advice to managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters and workplace investigations.
Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning across retail stores and head office.
Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with Australian employment legislation.
Coach and support managers in handling employee matters and developing high-performing teams.
Lead HR projects focused on employee engagement, retention, culture and organisational development.
Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, Awards and company policies.
Analyse HR trends and provide recommendations to improve people practices.
Support change management initiatives as the business continues to grow.
Mentor junior HR team members and contribute to continuous improvement across the People & Culture function.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 5 years' experience in a generalist HR role, including experience managing complex employee relations matters.
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practices.
Experience supporting multi-site operations, preferably within retail or a fast-paced customer-focused environment.
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgement when handling confidential matters.
The ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation.
A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
