We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Director of Early Learning Centre to lead our Early Learning Centre into its next chapter. This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate educational leader to shape the learning journey of our youngest students while contributing as a key member of the Junior School Leadership Team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Junior School, the Director of Early Learning Centre provides strategic, educational and operational leadership across our Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old Kindergarten programs.

This is a diverse leadership role where you will:

• Lead a high-performing team of Early Childhood educators.

• Drive excellence in teaching, learning and curriculum development.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Build strong partnerships with children, families and the wider school community.

• Ensure the Early Learning Centre continues to meet the highest standards of educational quality, compliance and child safety.

• Contribute to whole-school leadership and support seamless transition into Junior School.

The role includes a teaching component, allowing the successful applicant to remain connected to classroom practice while leading educational excellence.

About You

You are an experienced Early Childhood leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional educational outcomes for young children.

You will bring:

• Demonstrated leadership experience within an Early Learning Centre.

• Strong educational leadership and curriculum expertise.

• The ability to coach, mentor and inspire staff.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Experience leading quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

• Strong organisational and operational management capabilities.

• A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to continuous improvement.

• A genuine passion for child-centred education.

Experience within an independent school and/or an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme environment will be highly regarded.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

• Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration

• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications (or the ability to obtain)

• A commitment to child safety and compliance with all mandatory screening requirements
