Internal Communications Coordinator

About the Role

This newly created role sits within the ABC’s Communications team, supporting internal communications across the organisation with a particular focus on the ABC’s enabling divisions.

Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, you’ll help create and deliver clear, engaging communications that keep employees informed and connected to ABC priorities.

Your work will span staff announcements, newsletters, intranet articles and leadership messages, as well as maintaining content across the intranet, SharePoint, email and other digital channels.

You’ll also support major ABC internal initiatives, events and campaigns, coordinate internal communications across teams and provide day-to-day support to the Internal Communications Manager.

It’s a varied, hands-on role offering great exposure across the ABC and the opportunity to contribute to communications that reach employees across the organisation.

About You

You’re an articulate and engaging communicator with excellent writing skills, strong digital capability and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the organisation.

You’re organised, systems savvy and quick to learn new tools and platforms. Just as importantly, you’re a self-starter who takes initiative and someone who sees what needs to be done, gets things moving and is keen to make a difference.

You’ll bring:

• Strong digital and systems skills, including experience with content management systems and internal communications platforms.
• Strong organisation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience creating content and supporting communications campaigns or projects.
• A relevant degree in communications, media, journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• A genuine interest in the ABC and passion for public broadcasting, news, screen, audio and digital media.
• Experience working in a large or complex organisation will be highly regarded.
