The Role
As the Education Assistant – Lead, you would lead, mentor, coach and model evidence-based practices for Education Assistants across the school. As a valued leader, you will work closely with the Leadership Team to support the effective development and coordination of the Education Assistant workforce, providing advice and feedback where appropriate.
You will play an important role in the induction, training and ongoing professional development of Education Assistants. This would include providing coaching, guidance and practical support to Education Assistants and Special Needs Education Assistants to strengthen their practice and enhance support for students with diverse learning needs.
Key responsibilities may include:
The successful applicant will ideally be highly professional, organised and collaborative, with well-developed communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. They should be able to build and maintain respectful and productive relationships with Education Assistants, teachers, school leaders, families, community members and relevant external professionals and agencies.
The successful applicant should display initiative, sound professional judgement and the ability to promote consistent, evidence-based practices across the Education Assistant team. They should also be committed to building the capacity and confidence of others and contributing positively to a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement and high expectations.
