About the role
About Us
Scotch College is a leading independent school known for its ambition, values and commitment to nurturing extraordinary outcomes for young people from ELC to Year 12. Set in the Adelaide foothills, the College offers a broad, holistic education grounded in courage, integrity, inclusivity and a strong commitment to tomorrow.
Our Community and Marketing team works closely with current families, staff, volunteers, and our broader alumni network to deliver dynamic, inclusive experiences across the entire Scotch community. Our accomplished team punches well above its weight—looking after everything from sports dinners and VIP openings to major fundraising galas, info nights and coffee mornings. We strongly value respectful, authentic relationships that help every member of our community feel known, nurtured, and connected.
About the Role
The Community Relations & Events Officer position provides administrative, reception and hands-on event coordination support to the Director of Community and Marketing. From day one, you will manage event logistics, track real budgets, oversee supplier bookings and serve as a welcoming first point of contact for the College.
This position is well suited to a community-focused professional who loves the craft of a well-run event, works confidently around spreadsheets and run sheets, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two weeks look the same.
This role is offered on a full-time, fixed term (12 month) contract. Standard business hours apply, with occasional out-of-hours and weekend work required to support community events. More information about the role, including a Position Description, is available at People & Careers - Scotch College Adelaide.
Key Responsibilities
Our Community Relations & Events Officer has a meaningful opportunity to build strong relationships and make a positive difference in our school community by:
Coordinating assigned College events from end to end, managing run sheets, logistics, vendor quotes, and stakeholder communications.
Tracking event budgets, profit and loss statements, expenses, ticket sales, and auction income in Alii and Synergetic CRM.
Collaborating with Marketing to collect event collateral for social media and compile communications for parent and community support groups.
Providing front-of-house reception cover, managing community inquiries, and maintaining accurate community database records.
Assisting with physical event setup and pack-down activities while maintaining safe Work Health & Safety practices.
About You
You are a highly organized, community-focused professional who brings warmth, humour and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to event delivery. You take pride in making complex events appear completely effortless through exceptional detail, proactive planning and strong customer service.
You will demonstrate:
Relevant diploma level qualification along with 3+ years of experience coordinating events, projects, or community engagement activities.
Strong organizational skills with confidence managing run sheets, budgets, CRM systems and spreadsheets.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders, volunteers and parents.
High attention to detail, adaptability and a proactive approach to pre and post event coordination.
Flexibility and physical capacity to undertake manual handling for event setup/pack-down and out-of-hours work.
How to Apply
Applications must be made through SEEK and close at 8am on Monday 14 September 2026.
Applications should include a Resume and Cover Letter and can be addressed to the Director of Community and Marketing.
Scotch College reserves the right to interview and appoint suitable candidates prior to the closing date.
