SBR FRESH PRODUCE PTY LTD We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with financial reporting and compliance requirements, and providing effective accounting support to management. The ideal candidate will have a relevant accounting qualification, practical experience in a similar role, and a strong understanding of Australian accounting principles, including GST, BAS, and payroll processes. Experience with Xero is essential, while familiarity with Office Companion will be highly regarded.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting systems. Prepare and process financial transactions, journals, and account reconciliations. Perform bank, balance sheet, and other relevant account reconciliations.

Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS and GST requirements. Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Prepare financial reports and accounting information for management as required. Use Xero to maintain accounting records and manage financial data. Utilise Office Companion to support accounting and business administration processes, where required.

Monitor financial transactions and identify and resolve discrepancies. Ensure accounting records and processes comply with relevant Australian accounting standards and requirements. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive financial and business information.

Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Manage multiple priorities and ensure all accounting tasks and reporting requirements are completed within deadlines. Provide general accounting and financial support to management as required.

Qualification & experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline . Minimum one year of experience in a General Accountant or similar accounting role.

Demonstrated experience using Xero is essential. Experience with Office Companion is highly regarded. Sound understanding of Australian accounting principles, GST, BAS, and payroll processes .

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
