Water Network Technician

About the role

Aqua Analytics is seeking a Water Network Technician to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Bayswater North, but working in water networks across Melbourne and Victoria.

As a Water Network Technician, you will play a crucial role in the inspection and efficient operation of water distribution systems and networks. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of water supply infrastructure, contributing directly to the delivery of safe and clean water services to communities. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge water engineering technologies and be part of a team dedicated to sustainable water management solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake active leak detection inspections of potable and recycled water networks (up to 10km per day of walking required)

• Respond to water supply emergencies and undertake fault diagnosis using a range of equipment

• Maintain accurate records of field activities

• Collaborate with water utility engineering teams to identify opportunities for network optimisation and efficiency improvements

• Comply with health and safety regulations and implement best practices on all work sites

• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in water distribution networks or water utility operations and utilising acoustic leak detection technology

• Strong knowledge of water infrastructure systems

• Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, IoT devices etc.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various work sites

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual work in varied environmental conditions

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
