Storage X is a new Melbourne self-storage business on a mission to make storage simple, combining smart service, secure spaces, and a people-first approach. We're expanding across south-east and inner Melbourne, with Storage X Northcote and Storage X Bentleigh as our first new launch sites.

 The Role
We're hiring two Assistant Store Managers — one for our Northcote facility and one for our brand-new Bentleigh facility, to support the day-to-day running of each site. Working under the direction of the Store Manager, you'll help drive occupancy from the ground up, deliver a great customer experience, and take ownership of delegated tasks. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a customer-focused environment and takes pride in hitting their KPI targets and delivering great results.

What You'll Do

• Support the Store Manager in driving revenue growth through consultative sales, and maximising occupancy

• Convert enquiries into rentals, conduct facility tours, and help customers select the right unit for their needs

• Promote and sell ancillary products and services, including packing supplies and truck hire

• Deliver a consistently outstanding customer experience across walk-in, phone, and digital touchpoint

• Support the full customer lifecycle: enquiry, lease documentation, account management, and move-out

• Manage customer accounts including invoicing, payments, and overdue account follow-up

• Support marketing activities including following up leads, sending review requests, and updating tenant records

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and tidiness

 What we are looking for

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a customer-facing role within self-storage, retail, hospitality or wholesale, or a similar environment

• A genuine passion for helping customers with a positive can-do attitude

• Sales experience with the ability to convert enquiries and upsell products and services

• Sound conflict resolution skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations calmly and professionally

• Strong computer, administrative, and communication skills

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the reliability to manage the centre independently when required

• A current driver's licence. Forklift licence (desirable)
