About the role
About Us
At PGL Joinery, we design and manufacture high-end custom joinery, supplying wardrobes, kitchens, laundries and other cabinetry for residential and commercial projects across Sydney. Based in Smeaton Grange, we are a small team that prides itself on precision, reliability and craftsmanship, and we’re growing.
We’re looking for a Cabinet Maker who knows their trade, works hard, and brings a professional attitude every day.
The Role
You’ll be based in our factory, working alone or with the team to cut, assemble and finish a variety of joinery units.
We currently have some very large projects on, which means a high volume of repetitive production work (multiple similar units for multi-unit developments). We need someone who can work quickly and efficiently on this type of work while still maintaining accuracy and a high standard of finish.
Hours
Monday to Thursday, 6:30am start.
We run a 4-day week so our team finishes on Thursday and has a full three-day weekend every week. We value family time and genuine work-life balance.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Hard-working and committed to doing a good job every day
Reliable and can be counted on to show up and follow through
Punctual and respectful of the team’s time and schedule
Able to work both independently and in a team
Fast and efficient, especially on repetitive production work, without sacrificing accuracy
Focused on quality, with a strong eye for detail and finishing
Able to follow plans and meet production targets
Positive, proactive and solutions-oriented
Willing to take initiative, ask questions and take responsibility
Not here to waste time, and doesn’t want their time wasted either
Skills & Requirements
Proven experience as a cabinet maker in a joinery workshop
Minimum of 5–10 years of cabinet-making experience in a joinery workshop environment
Confident with drawings, measuring, cutting and assembly
Strong proficiency with woodworking machinery and tools
Good planning and time management skills
Own tools and transport
Forklift licence (a bonus, not essential)
Australian work rights
What We Offer
Competitive wages based on experience and performance
4-day working week (Monday–Thursday, 6:30am start) giving you a full three-day weekend every week
A workplace that supports family time and real work-life balance
Clean, modern factory with good workflow
Ongoing work with a strong pipeline of projects
A small-team culture that values professionalism, honesty and effort
No micromanaging – we want people we can trust to get the job done right
