About the role
This role involves supporting the Structural Director in managing and expanding the Civil business. You will oversee and coordinate engineering projects within the office, ensuring timely, professional delivery aligned with client requirements. You will maintain and grow the civil team and capability to provide required services internally, while providing leadership, technical guidance, and support to engineering and drafting staff.

Oversee and coordinate engineering projects within the office, ensuring timely, professional delivery aligned with client requirements
Maintain and continue to grow the civil team and capability to provide the required services internally
Provide leadership, technical guidance, and support to engineering and drafting staff
Assist in the planning, scheduling, and resourcing of projects to meet deadlines and budget requirements
Undertake and review Civil designs and analyses in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and industry best practices
Prepare high-quality, cost-effective engineering designs and documentation that meet client and project requirements
Maintain technical proficiency and up-to-date knowledge of Civil design software
Conduct site inspections to inform design decisions and verify conditions
Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure timely approvals and successful project outcomes
Continuously enhance client communication and relationship management skills
Act as a professional signatory for engineering certifications where required
About you
15+ years' experience in Civil Engineering, with significant experience in senior leadership and management roles
Demonstrated experience leading and growing a Civil Engineering business or division, including developing team capability, service offerings, and market presence
Proven ability to provide strategic direction and leadership to a Civil Engineering team, including recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and professional development
Extensive experience managing complex Civil Engineering projects from inception through to completion, including scope, programme, resources, budgets, and commercial outcomes
Strong technical expertise across Civil Engineering design, analysis, documentation, and project delivery, with the ability to provide high-level technical review and guidance
Demonstrated experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, documentation, reports, and certifications in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and statutory requirements
Strong understanding of Australian Standards, planning and approval processes, WHS obligations, risk management, and quality assurance requirements
Proven experience managing key client relationships and acting as a senior point of contact for major clients, authorities, contractors, and project stakeholders
Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
Current NSW Driver's Licence
