About the role

 

Join the Early Childhood Outcomes division and help shape policies and programs that give children the best start in life. Working within a collaborative team, you will support the design and delivery of complex policy initiatives and government reforms that improve access, affordability and quality across the early childhood sector. You will work closely with stakeholders, provide strategic advice and coordinate projects that deliver meaningful outcomes for children, families and communities across NSW.

 

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer to support the delivery of a key early childhood pilot program by working closely with participating early learning services to build capability and support effective implementation. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of services participating in the pilot, providing onboarding, coaching and ongoing implementation support. You will play an important role in building strong relationships with services, delivering professional learning activities and monitoring how the trial is implemented in practice. You will also help generate insights that inform continuous improvement and support the successful delivery of the trial. 

 

In this role, you will: 

 

• Manage a portfolio of participating early learning services, leading onboarding processes and providing ongoing coaching and implementation support. 

• Maintain regular engagement with early learning services, acting as the primary point of contact to provide guidance, respond to enquiries and address implementation issues. 

• Monitor progress across early learning services, identify risks or support needs and escalate issues where required. 

• Deliver professional learning and implementation supports, including webinars, workshops, coaching sessions and other development activities. 

• Facilitate learning sessions and coaching conversations that build capability and support effective implementation of the trial. 

• Conduct fidelity visits to participating early learning services to monitor implementation and provide feedback and guidance. 

• Capture insights from engagement activities and fidelity visits to inform project monitoring and continuous improvement.

About you 

 

• Qualifications, skills and experience in early childhood education and care sector settings.
• Strong understanding of the teaching, learning and assessment cycle under the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. 
• Experience delivering professional learning, coaching or implementation support in face-to-face and virtual settings. 
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a portfolio of services and respond to emerging issues. 
• The ability to work collaboratively within a project team and contribute to continuous improvement. 
• Willingness to travel to travel to support early learning services with participating in the Pilot.
• Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

 

 

Essential requirements of the role

 

• Early childhood education and care qualifications, and/or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience. 
• A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment
• A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to outer suburban and regional locations as required. 
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
