Farrell Transport Group is a rapidly growing bulk haulage company specialising in the transportation of materials across Queensland.

As our business continues to, we are looking to strengthen our finance team with an experienced Senior Accounts Receivable Officer.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Accounts Receivable Officer to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our accounts receivable function.

This is an important role within our growing finance team, with responsibility for ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are received on time, customer accounts are maintained correctly and outstanding debts are actively managed.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a high-volume environment and will have the ability to identify issues, follow up outstanding accounts and work closely with internal teams and customers to resolve queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process

• Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances

• Perform regular debtor follow-up and collection activities

• Allocate customer payments accurately and maintain account reconciliations

• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies

• Respond to customer account and invoice enquiries

• Follow up overdue accounts and escalate issues where required

• Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms

• Assist with credit control and customer account reviews

• Prepare and maintain aged receivables reports

• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies

• Work closely with Operations, Sales and Accounts Payable to resolve billing issues

• Assist with month-end reporting and account reconciliations

• Identify opportunities to improve accounts receivable processes and reduce outstanding debt

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records

• Provide support and guidance to other members of the accounts team as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is experienced, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of the accounts receivable function.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Senior Accounts Receivable or Credit Control role

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and follow-up skills

• Confidence dealing with customers regarding overdue accounts and payment issues

• Ability to prioritise and manage a high volume of transactions

• Strong computer and Excel skills

• Experience with Xero is highly desirable

• Experience in transport, logistics, construction or a similar high-volume industry is advantageous
