Psychologist / Provisional Psychologist

About the role:

Roar Psychology is seeking a part-time Psychologist (Ed & Dev/Clinical or Provisonal Psychologist) to join our growing team in Mitcham. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological services and support to our diverse client base. We primarily work with children and adolescents - however we are expanding our availability to adults. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment and contribute to the overall wellbeing of the local community.

What you'll be doing:

• Developing individualised treatment plans across the lifespan (heavy child/adolescent referral base).
• Providing evidence-based and neuroaffirming psychological interventions, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychoeducation and other therapeutic modalities.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic, integrated approach to client care.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and adhering to all relevant professional and ethical standards.
• Creation and engagement with Roar Psychology social media.
• Preferred but not required: Conducting comprehensive neuroaffirming psychological assessments for children and adults (including Autism, ADHD, SLD and giftedness).

What your week will look like:

• You can expect approximately 5–6 client hours per day, with paid time allocated for clinical notes, reports and other essential non-billable work. There is no expectation to work evenings or Saturdays, and we offer flexibility around start and finish times.
• We understand that psychologists do their best work when they have some control over the clients they see. When you join us, we’ll ask about your preferred age ranges, presentations, clinical interests and ideal caseload, and we’ll do our best to build your caseload accordingly.
• If a referral isn’t a good clinical fit, you will always have the ability to decline it.
• Individual supervision, with frequency negotiated as part of your employment offer
• Monthly group supervision
• Access to supervision ad hoc when required and, where appropriate, external specialists
• Assessment training and support
• A team environment where asking for help and sharing ideas is actively encouraged

Career progression:

We’re interested in supporting psychologists to build a long-term career at Roar, rather than simply filling a position. For clinicians who demonstrate strong clinical practice, consistently meet KPIs and show genuine passion for their work, there will be opportunities to progress into senior psychologist and leadership roles, with potential opportunities for further supervision training and development as the practice grows

• Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Working with Children’s Check

The practical details

• Employment: Permanent part-time
• Location: Mitcham, Melbourne
• Work setting: Clinic-based
• Availability: 2–4 days per week
• Preferred days: Wed, Thurs, Fri (optional Saturday)
• Hours: Approximately 5–6 client hours per day, with flexibility around start and finish times
• Evening work: Not required

• Start date: As early as September 2026 or as late as November 2026, depending on availability, negotiations and our current waitlist
• Pay cycle: Fortnightly
• Salary: $110,000–$150,000 pro rata, depending on experience and skills
• Non-billable work: Paid
• Supervision: Included within the salary package
