Road Trauma Support Group Australia
About the role
About us
Road Trauma Support Group NSW was established as a peer led support service for families bereaved through criminal road crashes. Over the last two years it has developed into a public company and registered charity. Our members are people who have lived through the same loss we now support others through: 24/7 grief and trauma counselling, peer support, court and coronial support, and long term connection long after a case has closed.
Road Trauma Support Group NSW works closely with the NSW Police Force and Transport for NSW to reach families early, and remains available to them for as long as they need us. We are closely affiliated with Homicide Victims Support Group whose CEO, Martha Jabour OAM, has developed the support model we use. In fact, Martha is also our CEO and is keen to engage and mentor a Deputy CEO.
While the growth of the Road Trauma Support Group has been welcomed by the people we support, we are sadly still growing because of the increasing rates of road crime causing death on NSW roads. This has opened up an opportunity for an experienced and dedicated leader to join our team.
