You're the person who checks it twice. Who packages a pair of glasses like it matters, because it does. Because on the other end of that parcel is an aged care resident who's been waiting to see the food on their plate again, recognise their grandchild's face, or read the paper the way they used to. That's not just dispatch, that's someone's world coming back into focus, and it goes out with your standard on it.

We're National Eye Care, a mobile optometry and ophthalmology company that brings eye care directly to aged care residents across Australia and New Zealand. We go to the people who can't easily come to us and we're looking for a qualified Optical Dispenser or Orthoptist who loves the hands-on, detail-obsessed side of this craft, is happy to run the packaging and dispatch process end to end, and enjoys pitching in with the admin team too.

Part-time. In-office at our Yarraville home base, with very little travel. No weekends. No public holidays. Real work-life balance, not the version companies put on a poster.

What your day looks like

• Check, verify and finish dispensed eyewear against the script, nothing leaves unless it's right

• Package every order like your name is on it, because it basically is

• Own the dispatch process end to end, getting finished eyewear out to aged care residents and facilities across Australia and New Zealand, on time

• Support the admin department with accurate data entry across orders, dispatch, patient and inventory records, details in, chaos out

• Pitch in on customer service, helping residents, families and facility staff with enquiries and sorting out any issues

• Work with our logistics partners, including trans-Tasman, and chase deliveries when they need chasing

• Stay on top of stock, inventory, consumables, dispensing supplies

• Jump in whenever the admin or dispense team needs a hand to keep a great mobile eye care business humming

Who you are

• Qualified: Cert IV in Optical Dispensing or an Orthoptics qualification, or serious hands-on dispensing experience

• You actually love the craft: glazing checks, finishing, packaging done properly

• You want to own dispatch, not just tolerate it

• Ridiculous attention to detail, and fast, accurate data entry

• A natural with people, warm, clear and helpful on customer service

• Organised, confident on systems, and easy to work with

• Proactive by default, you see the thing before someone has to ask

• A genuine care for older Australians and New Zealanders is a big plus
