Medical Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our small friendly team at a specialist medical practice in Wollongong, NSW. The position is part-time, 5-6 days in a fortnight regular work plus cover for sick leave and annual leave of other receptionists. This is a casual appointment for the first three to six months with the prospect of permanent appointment going forward.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner

• Managing the clinic's appointment schedule and ensuring smooth patient flow

• Handling patient enquiries and bookings over the phone and in person

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and administration

• Assisting with billing, invoicing and other financial processes

• Providing general administrative support to the clinical team as required

About you

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is essential

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide outstanding customer service

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office applications

• A caring, empathetic and professional approach when dealing with patients

• A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy
