About the role
About the practice
A newly established specialist urogynaecology practice at Epworth Freemasons, East Melbourne. The practice is growing, with consulting in East Melbourne and Geelong, and operating and urodynamics lists at Frances Perry House. A second specialist (minimally invasive gynaecology) is expected to join the practice, so this role has genuine scope to grow in hours and responsibility.
The role
You will be the first point of contact for patients and referrers, and central to how the practice runs day to day. Responsibilities include:
Answering calls and managing new patient enquiries with warmth and professionalism
Booking consultations, surgery and urodynamics; coordinating theatre lists
Billing: private specialist billing, Medicare/ECLIPSE claiming, and informed financial consent
Managing referrals, correspondence and results in Genie
Supporting the specialists with day-to-day practice administration, with scope to contribute to practice marketing and referrer engagement as the practice grows
Hours
Approximately two days per week (around 15 hours), currently worked across consulting sessions that may be scheduled as half days. Exact days and pattern are negotiable, and hours are expected to increase as the practice grows.
About you
Experience in medical reception, ideally in a private specialist practice
Familiarity with Gentu or Zedmed, and confidence learning new software
Excellent phone manner and written communication
Comfortable working independently in a small, growing practice where processes are still being built
Adaptable — you enjoy variety and are happy for the role to evolve as the practice grows
Confidence with practice marketing — for example social media presence, or supporting GP referrer communications and education events
What we offer
$40–$45 per hour + superannuation, depending on experience
A ground-floor role in a growing specialist practice with a clear path to increased hours and responsibility
A supportive, collegial environment at Epworth Freemasons, East Melbourne
To apply, please submit a CV and a short cover letter describing your medical reception experience and why this role suits you.
