The Role
An opportunity has become available for a highly organised and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team based in Glen Iris with onsite parking and walking distance from public transport.
Reporting to the Group Accountant and indirectly to the Finance Manager, this role will support the broader finance function across financial reporting, reconciliations and compliance. This is a hands-on position suited to an assistant accountant who is keen to develop their technical accounting skills while working in a collaborative environment.
You will be joining a large and supportive finance team, providing excellent exposure across the accounting function and strong opportunities to learn, develop and progress within the business.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of month-end journals including accruals and provisions
Balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring integrity of the general ledger
Maintenance of the fixed asset register
Intercompany reconciliations and processing of intercompany transactions
Assisting with monthly financial reporting to management
Bank reconciliations and investigation of variances
Supporting compliance requirements including BAS preparation
Stock recosting and financial data accuracy
Assisting with process improvement initiatives within the finance team
About You
Proactive and energetic with a genuine desire to learn
Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Business
CA or CPA commenced or planning to commence
Intermediate Excel capability including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
Experience with Pronto ERP desirable but not essential
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
