With the roles able to be filled at either of ASC locations, you’ll help deliver impactful initiatives that strengthen culture, enhance collaboration, and reinforce ASC’s reputation as an employer of choice.

We have multiple opportunities available for Technical Discipline Leads across Engineering, in various disciplines in Adelaide, SA or Henderson, WA. If your skillset/experience aligns to any of the below positions and criteria, we’d love to hear from you!

2. 2 x Technical Discipline Lead – Structural Engineering
3. 2 x Technical Discipline Lead – Electrical Engineering
4. 2 x Technical Discipline Lead – Systems Engineering
5. 1 x Technical Discipline Lead – Detailed Design

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of engineering capability frameworks, including role definitions, competency standards and qualification requirements.
• Partner with workforce planning, recruitment and program stakeholders to identify capability needs, workforce gaps and future talent requirements.
• Drive training, professional development and accreditation pathways to build and sustain discipline capability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineering professionals, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Establish and support Communities of Practice, knowledge management initiatives and continuous improvement activities across the discipline.
• Guide and influence the application of engineering capability standards, processes and methodologies, ensuring consistency and quality outcomes.
• Support workforce planning activities, including resource allocation, staff development opportunities and engineering capability growth across programs.
• Identify emerging capability requirements, industry trends and technology developments to inform strategic workforce and capability planning.

About you 

• For TDL roles 1-4 above, educational qualifications satisfying membership of Engineers Australia (or other equivalent Professional society) at MIEAust level. Eligible for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent status.
• For TDL role 5 above, educational qualifications satisfying affiliate or companion membership of Engineers Australia (or other equivalent Professional society) at AffilIEAust or CompIEAust level. Eligible for Chartered Technologist (CEngT) or Chartered Associate (CEngA) or equivalent status.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary engineering and technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience solving complex technical and business challenges using a logical, systems-based approach that balances customer and organisational requirements.
• Proficiency in engineering toolsets, configuration management and change management processes within regulated environments.
• Commitment to professional excellence, continuous improvement and ongoing professional development, setting a high standard for peers and teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience on large-scale, complex projects, applying Systems Engineering principles and project management best practices across scope, schedule, cost, risk and integration would be highly regarded.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
