About the Role
The successful candidate will have skills which include but not limited to:
Ability to observe and abide by company values and policies as well as procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
EWPA License/Forklift. (Desirable).
Competent welding skills (Mig/Arc).
Use of oxy / acetylene knowledge.
Chemical handling / use of pumps.
General labouring skills.
Positive Attitude and willingness to learn.
Dedicated to conducting a high level of customer service and safety compliance.
Experience and competency using a variety of hand & power tools is essential.
Electrical knowledge/ wiring, highly desirable but not essential.
Mechanically minded with experience in maintenance and be able to troubleshoot equipment.
Must be able to multitask and work in a production environment.
Basic computer skills.
Demonstrate skills in resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:
Report to and take direction from the Operations Manager.
Operate oxy torches or welding equipment to cut, join & repair metal parts, as well as fabricate according to engineered drawings.
Repair, replace and reassemble defective equipment using hand & power tools.
Diagnose crane/hoist issues and repair/ report them quickly and efficiently.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to rectify the issue.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment/ machinery and buildings.
Will be on call and may be required to come in if any equipment breaks down during other shifts.
Assisting in areas of production if current maintenance tasks are fulfilled.
Some weekend work is a requirement of the position.
Must be able to follow instruction in regard to repairing, fabricating or maintaining without assistance.
