About the Role

As a member of our sales team, you'll provide great service to our trade and retail customers while taking a key role in coordinating our hardware range.

You'll help ensure our hardware department is well stocked, organised and presented, while developing strong product knowledge and assisting customers to find the right products for their needs.

Your day will include:

• Providing outstanding service to trade and retail customers at the counter and over the phone

• Developing strong product knowledge across our hardware and building products range

• Taking ownership of hardware stock levels and identifying products that need replenishing

• Receiving, receipting and putting away incoming hardware stock

• Maintaining accurate stock locations, pricing and product information

• Keeping hardware shelves and displays organised, fully stocked and well presented

• Monitoring stock movement and identifying slow-moving, low-stock and high-demand products

• Assisting with stocktakes and maintaining inventory accuracy

• Identifying opportunities to improve our hardware range and product displays

• Preparing customer quotations and processing sales efficiently

• Building long-term relationships with our loyal customer base

• Picking and packing customer orders accurately

• Working closely with our purchasing, sales, yard and delivery teams to ensure products are available when customers need them

While hardware will be a key focus of the position, you'll be part of the broader sales team and will assist across timber, building materials and general customer service as required.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys working with people but also likes taking responsibility for keeping things organised and running efficiently.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience in hardware, building supplies, timber or trade sales

• Strong hardware or building product knowledge

• Experience with stock control, inventory, merchandising or ordering

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confidence using computers, email and point-of-sale systems

• An ability to identify stock requirements and follow through to ensure products are available

• A willingness to continually build your product knowledge

• A positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic

• Initiative and the ability to take ownership of your responsibilities

• A team-first approach and willingness to help wherever needed

• A forklift licence or willingness to obtain one – we'll help with the training
