About the role
Ewers Environmental Consulting (EEC) is seeking an ambitious and passionate Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join our growing team in our Melbourne and Geelong offices. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in delivering complex environmental projects and contributing to the company's strategic objectives.
Due to strong growth in VIC & SA and a commitment to our team and clients we have an opportunity for a skilled environmental consultant to join our Contaminated Land team in Victoria.
This role will be a hybrid with time based in the field for site works and a mix of office and from home for reporting.
What you'll be doing
Field support (including soil, groundwater and soil vapour monitoring, supervision of drilling programs including groundwater well installations) across a number of sites within Melbourne and across regional Victoria. With the possibility of some project work in other states.
Experience in all three areas is essential: soil sampling, groundwater and soil vapour bore installation and monitoring, and drilling supervision.
Collecting and analysing environmental data and preparing detailed and accurate site assessment and technical reports including PSI, DSI (soil, groundwater, soil vapour), CEMP, GWQMP, Soil Classification, PFAS assessment
Conducting environmental assessments and supporting the delivery of environmental audits for a diverse range of clients on time and on budget
Developing and implementing environmental management plans and strategies
Providing technical advice and recommendations to clients on environmental compliance and sustainability
Staying up-to-date with the latest environmental regulations, standards and industry best practices
Assisting with the preparation of tenders and proposals for new business opportunities
Subcontractor and supplier selection and management
Close collaboration with site staff
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in similar environmental consulting/engineering roles
Must have a full driver's licence with excellent driving history and must have own reliable transport
Experience on a wide range of project types for varied public (e.g. Council, Government, Road, Rail, etc.) and private (e.g. Development, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aviation, etc.) clients
Experience in writing and compiling technical reports including;
PSI, DSI (soil, groundwater, soil vapour), GW Annual Monitoring Reports including ability to compile Mann Kenndall analysis, GWQMP, Remediation Action Plans (RAP), DSI Reports for EPA audit sites, Soil Classification Reports, CEMP, PFAS assessment
A strong focus on the quality delivery of services and a constant desire to exceed client expectations
Strong technical skills in environmental assessment, data analysis and project management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to clients
Familiarity with local and national environmental regulations and industry standards
Well-developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work autonomously and also collaboratively in a team environment, build strong working relationships at all levels and take on leadership roles
Proficiency in using relevant software tools and technologies, such as MS Word, Excel, GIS, ESDAT, and modelling tools such as PIPERPLOT and SURFER.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
