Women's Health Information and Referral Service CQ Inc. (WHIRSCQ) is a community-based organisation funded by the Queensland Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety. We are committed to improving health, wellbeing, safety, and independence for women and individuals affected by gender-based violence and sexual violence across Central Queensland and the Central Highlands.
We are seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our dedicated team and provide trauma-informed therapeutic support to people impacted by domestic and family violence, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse.
WHIRSCQ delivers a range of free, confidential services, including:
· Counselling, support, information, and referrals for women aged 14 years and over experiencing issues affecting their health and wellbeing, including historical domestic and family violence.
· Sexual violence counselling, support, information, and referrals for women, men, young people aged 12 years and over, and their key support people.
· Youth Sexual Violence and Abuse Counselling for children and young people under 18 years who have experienced child sexual violence and abuse.
· Prevention, Capacity Building and Awareness Raising (PCBAR) activities, including community education, workshops, and professional training across Central Queensland.
Counselling services are delivered face-to-face, by telephone, and via Zoom from our Rockhampton office and outreach locations including Gracemere, Mount Morgan, North Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Blackwater, Emerald, and surrounding communities.
Tertiary qualifications required (e.g. Social Work or Counselling).
