About the role

We are seeking a Senior Stylist or Apprentice to join our team at Highlights Hair Studio. This is a full-time or part-time position with flexible hours. Availability on Saturdays and at least one late night are essential. Applications for Apprentice role from people with no prior hairdressing experience are welcome.

Key responsibilities

As a Senior Stylist:

• Provide exceptional hair styling services to a diverse clientele

• Maintain the highest standards of salon hygiene, safety and professional conduct

• Support the smooth operation of the salon and contribute to a positive team environment

As an Apprentice:

• Learn fundamental hair styling techniques under the guidance of experienced stylists

• Assist Senior Stylists with client services and salon operations

• Develop proficiency in hair cutting, colouring, styling and treatment applications

• Maintain excellent salon cleanliness and organisation standards

• Build strong customer service skills and client communication abilities

• Progress through formal apprenticeship qualifications in hairdressing

• Contribute positively to the salon team culture and client experience

What we're looking for

For Senior Stylist applicants:

• Proven experience working as a professional hair stylist

• Current or relevant hairdressing qualifications or certifications recognised in Queensland

• Excellent customer service skills

• Strong communication skills and professional demeanour

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a salon team

For Apprentice applicants:

• Genuine passion for hair styling

• Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to learning

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

• Willingness to pursue formal hairdressing qualifications and apprenticeship training

• A positive attitude and enthusiasm for professional development
