Multimedia Project Lead | Public Health

About the role

Based in Darwin, this unique role combines video production, digital content, visual storytelling and public health. You’ll have the opportunity to travel to remote communities across East Arnhem Land, including travel by small aircraft, to work alongside Yolŋu staff, community members and Public Health program teams.

Reporting to the Public Health Manager, you will work collaboratively with Public Health staff, Yolŋu communities and program leads to plan, create and evaluate culturally informed health promotion media, including video and digital content.

What you'll be doing

• Co-design, shoot and edit engaging health promotion videos alongside Yolŋu staff, communities and Public Health program leads.
• Create high-quality digital, social media and visual content that supports important public health messages.
• Help develop Miwatj's Public Health media and communication strategy.
• Analyse how health promotion content performs across different channels and help shape future media priorities.
• Support Public Health Community Workers and program staff to build their own content creation skills.
• Assist with the visual design and branding of health promotion resources and other materials.
• Manage multimedia projects from initial planning and production through to evaluation.
• Travel to remote East Arnhem communities, including by small aircraft, to capture content and work directly with community-based teams.

About you

We're looking for someone who can combine creativity, technical multimedia skills and strong relationship-building with a genuine commitment to culturally respectful ways of working.

You'll bring:

• A relevant qualification and at least 3 years' experience in content production, or a similar role with transferable skills.
• Experience shooting high-quality video footage and confidence using video editing software and graphic design tools.
• Strong creative storytelling and content development skills.
• Experience managing projects from planning through to evaluation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly when working in intercultural environments.
• An understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination.
• An understanding of strengths-based approaches to public health and the determinants of health.
• The ability and willingness to travel to remote communities across East Arnhem Land, including via small aircraft.

Experience producing health promotion videos for remote Aboriginal communities would be highly regarded, as would knowledge of traditional kinship systems in the region or the ability to speak an Aboriginal language from the Miwatj region.
