About the role
Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Tongala
Four days on, four days off, all year round. Our Tongala workshop runs a 4-on/4-off roster maintaining the fleet behind northern Victoria's dairy supply chain, and our mechanics averaged $120k in earnings last financial year.
We're hiring experienced heavy diesel mechanics for hands-on work across prime movers, tankers, trailers and dollies. Shifts run between 6am and 6pm (12 hours in peak season, 10.5 in low season), with training across tanker systems, diagnostics, EBS/ABS and hydraulics. Specialised heavy fleet - no FIFO, no city commute, no dealership repetition.
What you'll do
· Service and repair prime movers, tankers, trailers and dollies
· Diagnose driveline, brake, suspension, hydraulic and engine faults
· Carry out defect repairs and breakdown support
· Take part in the workshop on-call roster (paid at double time)
What you'll bring
· Heavy vehicle or diesel trade qualification
· Experience on trucks, trailers, tankers, plant or ag machinery
· Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
· Current driver licence
What you'll get
· 4-on/4-off roster, shifts between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday
· 5 weeks annual leave plus leave loading
· Average earnings $120k last financial year + super
· Overtime and call-outs at double time (2-hour call-out minimum)
· Weekly pay, tool allowance, uniforms, PPE and licence upgrade support
