About the Role

Join Origin’s Procurement team as a Commercial Lead - Technology, where you’ll play a key role in shaping our approach to Technology procurement and unlocking value across a complex portfolio of spend.

Working closely with business stakeholders and suppliers, you’ll take ownership of Technology spend categories and lead the development and execution of category plans, sourcing strategies, contract negotiations and supplier engagements.

You’ll be a trusted commercial advisor, bringing strong commercial judgement and market insight to help Origin maximise value, manage risk and establish supplier arrangements that support our strategic and operational priorities.

What you'll be doing

• Lead Technology category and sourcing strategies, identifying opportunities to deliver value, reduce cost and effectively manage commercial risk.

• Lead complex sourcing activities, supplier negotiations and contract development from strategy through to execution, handover and ongoing supplier performance.

• Partner with stakeholders across Origin, providing practical commercial advice and building strong strategic supplier relationships to deliver business outcomes.

• Use spend analysis, market intelligence and category insights to understand cost drivers, identify opportunities and inform commercial decisions.

• Champion strong procurement governance and continuous improvement while coaching others and building commercial capability across the Procurement team.

About you

You’re an experienced procurement and commercial professional who enjoys navigating complex commercial challenges, influencing stakeholders and delivering outcomes that create long-term value.

You’ll bring:

• Strong Technology procurement experience, including strategic sourcing, category management, contract negotiation and development of Statements of Work.

• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to assess complex arrangements, manage risk and identify value creation opportunities.

• Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers.

• Strong contract and supplier management capability, coupled with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, matrixed organisation.

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related discipline.

Experience within energy, resources, utilities or heavy industry and familiarity with procurement platforms such as SAP or Ariba will be highly regarded.
