We’re looking for a Relief Operator Maintainer – Mechanical to join our Operations team, providing relief coverage across multiple power station sites while ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our generation assets.

If you’re a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, LV Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic who enjoys variety, remote work and problem-solving.

About the Role

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Manager, you’ll support operations by providing relief coverage and maintaining power generation equipment. The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work with experienced teams across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain power generation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine, preventative and breakdown maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
• Complete maintenance reports.
• Maintain site housekeeping and plant presentation.
• Participate in after-hours callouts while on site.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects.
• Work collaboratively with clients, contractors and internal teams while maintaining a strong safety focus.

About You

You’ll be a hands-on mechanical professional who enjoys working independently while contributing to a team environment.

Essential requirements:

• Mechanical or LV or Heavy Diesel Fitting trade qualification.
• Minimum 2 years’ post-trade experience.
• Experience in heavy industry.
• Strong fault-finding, engine diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
• National Police Clearance.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug Screen on a regular basis.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Commitment to working safely and complying with HSE requirements.

Highly regarded:

• Experience working in remote locations.
• Power generation or stationary engine experience.
• Gas engine or fuel system experience.
• Experience using Pronto CMMS (or similar).
• High Risk Work Licences, Forklift, Working at Heights, Dogging / Rigging, First Aid or LV Rescue.
