Housekeeper/Cleaner

An experienced, reliable and highly organised cleaner/housekeeper to provide regular care for a private residence in Aspendale.

Flexible work conditions ranging between 15-25hrs per week.

The house will be the primary focus of this position. Next door is an Airbnb property that requires occasional cleaning and guest preparation when bookings occur. The Airbnb is not regularly occupied, so this work will be completed on an ad hoc basis.

This role would suit someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining a beautiful home, notices the small details and can work independently to a consistently high standard.

• Maintain the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home.

• Give particular attention to the main bedroom and bathroom

• Clean and reset the kitchen

• Load, unload and manage the dishwasher

• Clean and prepare kitchen benches and living areas

• Complete washing, drying, folding and ironing

• Change bed linen and make beds when required

• Vacuum, mop, dust and clean throughout the property

• Clean windows as scheduled

• Organise cupboards, wardrobes and household areas when required

• Monitor household cleaning products and supplies

• Notice and report anything requiring repair, maintenance or replacement

• Assist with occasional deeper cleaning and household organisation

• Ensure the home always feels clean, organised and well cared for

When the nearby Airbnb property has been used, you may also be required to:

• Complete a full clean and guest changeover

• Strip, wash and dry used bed linen

• Remake and beautifully present all beds

• Thoroughly clean and reset two bathrooms

• Vacuum and mop all floors

• Clean and disinfect benches and high-touch surfaces

• Check for cobwebs, ants and other presentation issues

• Clean and reset the kitchen and dishwasher

• Ensure all plates, glasses, cutlery, utensils and cooking equipment are spotless

• Check appliances and white goods

• Restock condiments, toiletries, towels, wipes and guest supplies

• Organise and tidy all rooms

• Set out welcome or arrival items as directed

• Complete a final presentation check before guest arrival

• Report any damage, missing items or maintenance concerns

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous professional housekeeping, domestic cleaning, hotel or Airbnb experience

• Takes genuine pride in maintaining a well-presented home

• Has excellent attention to detail

• Is honest, trustworthy and respectful of household privacy

• Is reliable, punctual and well organised

• Can work independently and manage priorities

• Notices what needs to be done without always being directed

• Works efficiently without compromising quality

• Communicates clearly and promptly

• Is physically capable of cleaning, laundry, ironing and bed-making duties

• Can provide some flexibility when occasional Airbnb bookings arise

• Current driver’s licence and reliable transport

• Australian working rights

• Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one

• Contactable professional references

• Ability to travel between two nearby Aspendale properties

• Knowledge of the safe use of household cleaning products and equipment

• Regular ongoing housekeeping work at the main residence
