Your Role
As a HR Advisor you will be responsible for providing a proactive, high-quality HR advisory service across the Australian and New Zealand businesses. Working closely with leaders and employees, the role delivers practical and commercially focused support across employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, employee engagement, recruitment, organisational capability and employment legislation.
The role acts as a trusted advisor to managers, helping to build leadership capability whilst ensuring compliance with Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, company policies and local regulatory requirements
Key Responsibilities
· Provide consistent, pragmatic advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, HR policies and employment practices, ensuring legal compliance and minimising business risk
· Provide support and guidance to managers on Modern Award interpretation, employment conditions, salary administration and compliance with applicable workplace agreements.
· Provide guidance and support in the management of performance, conduct and grievance matters, ensuring company policies are applied fairly and consistently whilst adopting a coaching approach to develop manager capability.
· Advise, coach and assist managers in conducting workplace investigations, including planning investigations, conducting interviews, gathering evidence and preparing investigation findings and recommendations.
· Support managers in the application of performance improvement processes, providing advice and guidance on documentation, review meetings and performance outcomes.
· Provide advice and guidance to managers on employee attendance, wellbeing and return-to-work matters, including support in managing long-term absence, fitness-for-work concerns and workplace adjustments where required.
· Provide advice and guidance in relation to employee entitlements in accordance with Australian and New Zealand employment legislation, including parental leave, flexible working arrangements, annual leave, carers leave, sick leave and other statutory entitlements.
· Support recruitment activities across the business, working closely with managers to identify requirements, develop job advertisements, coordinate recruitment campaigns, participate in interviews and support the offer and onboarding process.
· Partner with managers to support effective onboarding, integration and retention of new employees.
· Proactively support employee engagement initiatives designed to improve employee experience, organisational culture and overall business performance.
· Support the development and delivery of people-focused initiatives, including leadership development, succession planning and workforce capability programmes.
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, establishing credibility as a trusted HR advisor.
· Produce and analyse HR data and metrics, identifying trends and providing recommendations to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
· Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation, ensuring confidentiality, compliance and data integrity at all times.
· Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Australian and New Zealand employment legislation and workplace relations best practice, including the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards, Employment Relations Act, Holidays Act and associated employment frameworks.
· Contribute to the continuous review and improvement of HR policies, procedures and systems to ensure efficiency, compliance and alignment with business objectives.
· Support consistency of HR practices across Australia and New Zealand whilst recognising local legislative, cultural and operational requirements.
· Undertake any other reasonable request from management.
About you
Preferred Skill & Experience
· Experience of supporting manufacturing/industrial workforce
· Working in a coaching environment, with a coaching approach to work
Essential Skill & Experience
· Experience of delivering a broad HR service provision/advice to include performance management, employment advice, ER issues, absence management and recruitment, etc.
· Experience with Fair Work Commission matters and/or New Zealand employment relations processes.
· Experience interpreting Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and relevant New Zealand employment terms and conditions
Preferred Qualifications
· AHRI Certification (CAHRI)
· Coaching Qualification
· Mental Health First Aider
Essential Qualifications
· Degree in HR, Business, Psychology or equivalent experience
Pay: $90,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
