About the role
Pegasus Media and Logistics is a privately owned Australian company located at Blacktown. We offer our clients high quality and environmentally sustainable products and a large variety of printing services including commercial offset printing, point of purchase displays, campaign management, digital printing, self-adhesive labels, packaging, warehousing, inventory management and national distribution.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Production Planner – Offset, Labels and Large Format Digital to join a fast-paced manufacturing team.
About The Role
You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
Confirming that every Offset, Labels and Large Format Digital job is fully defined, technically correct, capable of manufacture and ready for production before it is released.
Checking work tickets, supporting approvals, manufacturing methods and route, materials, tooling, finishing, packing and despatch inputs.
Have the responsibility for all work tickets to be validated and 100% job ready verified including controlled supporting documentation and information prior to production.
Have the responsibility to place jobs on hold when mandatory information, approvals, materials or routing are missing or contradictory.
Work through job from first operation to packed and despatch-ready product confirming the methods are achievable and ready for correct order.
Validating materials, finishing, inspections, assembly, packing and despatch hand-offs contain sufficient technical information for the receiving department to proceed without assumption.
Confirm approved files, proofs, colour references, samples and customer approvals, stocks, plates, consumables and packing materials are available and match the job ticket requests prior to production.
Work closely with the Site Scheduler as one connected control point for all production and live schedules.
Apply all quality, customer, environmental and WHS requirements. Technical, quality, safety and mandatory information controls cannot be waived to start a job early.
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure quality and consistency.
Perform work in accordance with the requirements of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems (ISO9001 and ISO14001).
Follow safe systems of work at all times including compliance to company policies, procedures, PPE requirements and instructions.
About You
To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will have the following:
A minimum of three years’ experience in print production planning, job engineering, coordination or a comparable multi-process manufacturing role
Strong working knowledge of offset, roll-fed label and large-format production, including prepress, finishing/converting, packing and despatch dependencies.
Experience using a print MIS/ERP; Tharstern experience is highly desirable. Be competent in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word skills.
A demonstrated ability to read, verify and challenge work tickets, proofs, specifications, manufacturing routes and delivery breakdowns.
Be methodical and highly accurate, with the discipline to check the whole job and the confidence to stop incomplete work.
Strong practical judgement and problem-solving skills; does not guess when technical information is missing or uncertain.
Direct, respectful and appropriately assertive communicator who follows issues through to correction and works constructively with the Site Scheduler and production teams.
Accountable, resilient and improvement-minded in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
A high attention to detail and accuracy.
