Taki Japanese Restaurant in Canberra Centre is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Full-Time Chef to join our team.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilitie:

• Prepare meals for lunch and dinner, ensuring high-quality dishes and attractive presentation.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times.
• Prepare and ensure availability of mise en place as required.
• Implement stock control procedures, ensure proper rotation, and minimise wastage.
• Keep all working areas clean and equipment properly maintained and serviced.
• Report any issue to the Executive Chef promptly.
• Prepare and present menu items according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Ensure all food is stored and handled according to current food safety and hygiene regulations.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Chef with expertise in Asian cuisine
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Knowledge of food safety standards
