About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Architect based in Perth, WA with at least 5 years of experience with commercial and industrial projects and a minimum of 5 years of recent ArchiCAD experience.

Based in Malaga, Quality Design Solutions (QDS) is an established Perth Architectural design studio delivering high-quality industrial and commercial projects across Australia.

Our team is composed of registered Architects, Architectural graduates and building designers accredited by the Architects Board of WA and registered with Design Matters National, we bridge the gap between creative concept design and high-precision technical documentation. We manage the entire building lifecycle - guiding projects from early sketches and council approvals straight through to detailed working drawings.

Our project portfolio includes:

• Industrial Developments: Concrete tilt-up buildings, large logistics facilities, cold storage, warehouse/office developments, factory workshops, rural sheds and micro warehouse/ self storage units.

• Commercial and Retail: Shopping and retail centers, office complexes, medical & veterinary hospitals and hospitality venues

• Community Projects: Volunteer fire stations, community centers and local sports/cafe facilities

• Fit-outs & Extensions: Facade modernisations, commercial office reconfigurations and major industrial additions

Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Architect based in Perth, WA with at least 5 years of experience with commercial and industrial projects and a minimum of 5 years of recent ArchiCAD experience.

In this role, you won't be siloed into a single phase. You will move comfortably between design thinking, technical documentation, consultant coordination and client management across a range of commercial and industrial residential projects.

Skills and Experience we’re Keen to see:

• Architect with commercial and industrial experience

• 5 years minimum of recent ArchiCAD experience

• Must be based in Perth, WA

• Tilt-Up and technical design: Develop constructible details for concrete tilt-panel and commercial structural systems

• Regulatory approvals: Liaise with town planners, clients and builders during development and building approvals across local WA council jurisdictions

• Consultant and Client Liaison: Coordinate closely with external engineering, surveying, energy, and drainage consultants, as well as builders and clients

• Technical Knowledge: Strong working understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA), Australian Standards and the WA Planning Framework

• Strong knowledge of design principles, building materials, construction methods, codes, standards and regulations

• Advanced design and documentation skills across all project stages

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey design intent

• Proven ability to manage time, priorities and delegated tasks with minimal supervision

• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment

Desirable:

• Familiarity using Twinmotion is a major advantage

• Experience using Adobe Suite
