About the role
Location: Canning Vale, Perth WA
Employment Type: Part-Time
Shift: Monday to Friday | 4:30pm – 10:30pm (30 minute break)
Thorny Devil Access is a proudly WA owned and operated business with locations in Canning Vale, Karratha and Port Hedland. As a certified Indigenous-owned business and member of Supply Nation, we are committed to supporting diversity, creating opportunities within our community, and delivering high-quality workwear and PPE solutions.
As our embroidery and printing department continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable Embroidery Assistant/Junior to join our afternoon production team and support the delivery of exceptional custom branding for our clients.
The RoleWe are seeking an Embroidery Assistant/Junior for our 4:30pm – 10:30pm shift. This role suits someone who enjoys working in a production environment, takes pride in their work, and is happy to get hands-on with garment preparation, machine assistance, and finishing tasks. No prior embroidery experience is necessary — we're just as interested in candidates with strong packing, folding, and garment-handling experience who are keen to learn embroidery skills on the job.
As this is an afternoon-to-night shift, the role suits someone comfortable working evening hours within a small, close-knit production team.
Key ResponsibilitiesHoop garments and prepare materials for embroidery production
Assist the embroidery operator with threading, bobbins, and general machine support
Fold, pack, and prepare finished garments for dispatch
Monitor embroidery runs and flag any quality or accuracy issues
Assist with routine cleaning and basic machine maintenance
Support stock handling and workplace organisation
Assist with heat press equipment as required
Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work area
No embroidery experience required — training provided; prior experience with commercial embroidery machines is a bonus
Experience in packing, folding, garment handling, or a production/warehouse environment highly regarded
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
Comfortable working afternoon and night shift hours
Able to work confidently within a small team environment, typically alongside one or two other employees
Good time management skills and ability to meet production deadlines
Basic computer skills (advantageous, not essential)
Physically capable of standing for extended periods and handling garments/materials
Valid Australian work rights
Competitive hourly rates with afternoon shift loading
Work on brand-new equipment – Single Head, 4 Head and 6 Head embroidery machines, with more on the way
On-the-job training and support to build your embroidery skills
Join a fun, supportive team that enjoys a laugh while getting the job done
Opportunity to grow with a fast-expanding business
Stable afternoon shift with consistent hours
If you're reliable, detail-oriented, and keen to grow your skills in an evening production environment — whether you're coming from embroidery, packing, or general production work — we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now and join the Thorny Devil team.
