ECORR is a leading resource recovery and recycling business committed to delivering sustainable environmental solutions. We are seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join our growing team and develop their career within the waste, recycling and environmental sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to gain practical experience in environmental compliance, resource recovery, operational improvement, and project delivery within a fast-paced recycling facility.
About the RoleReporting to the Commercial Compliance Engineer, you will support the environmental, operational and compliance functions of the business while working closely with production and site personnel. This hands-on role provides exposure to soil management, environmental monitoring, resource recovery, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with environmental compliance in accordance with NSW EPA legislation, Environmental Protection Licence (EPL) conditions and Resource Recovery Orders and Exemptions.
Review waste classification reports and support contaminated soil assessment and resource recovery activities.
Coordinate environmental and soil testing programs with external laboratories.
Maintain environmental records, compliance registers and monitoring data.
Analyse environmental and operational data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support site inspections, environmental audits and incident investigations.
Work collaboratively with operations to improve recycling processes, product quality and operational performance.
Assist with sustainability initiatives, including resource recovery, embodied carbon and Green Star projects.
Promote a strong culture of Safety, Quality and Environmental Excellence by supporting WHS systems, participating in toolbox meetings, maintaining quality standards, assisting with audits and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
You will have:
A Bachelor's degree (or be completing your final year) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering (Environmental) or an equivalent engineering qualification.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
A current NSW Driver Licence.
Knowledge of NSW EPA legislation and environmental compliance.
Understanding of contaminated land assessment and waste classification.
Experience with GIS or environmental data software.
Exposure to the waste, recycling, construction or environmental consulting industries.
