REINFORCEMENT PROCESSING OPERATOR

Ozcast is a leading Australian precast concrete manufacturer supplying major infrastructure, transport and civil projects throughout Australia.

As part of our continued growth and investment in automation, we have recently commissioned a new Progress EBA20 automated reinforcement processing machine and are seeking an experienced Reinforcement Processing Operator to join our team at our Sydney facility.

About the Role

Reporting to the Precast Manager, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our new Progress EBA20 reinforcement processing machine while ensuring reinforcement products are manufactured safely, accurately and efficiently to support our precast concrete production operations.

You will play a critical role in ensuring reinforcement is supplied to production on time and to specification while contributing to productivity, quality and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and program the Progress EBA20 reinforcement processing machine

• Read and interpret reinforcement schedules, engineering drawings and production requirements

• Process reinforcement steel in accordance with production schedules

• Complete machine setup, changeovers and production adjustments

• Conduct quality inspections and ensure products meet specification requirements

• Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance activities

• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (where licensed)

• Coordinate reinforcement storage, identification and material movements

• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient work area

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and production efficiencies

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience operating automated steel processing, reinforcement processing or CNC manufacturing equipment

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, reinforcement schedules and production documentation

• Experience working in manufacturing, precast concrete, steel fabrication or construction industries

• A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality

• Forklift licence (preferred)

• Overhead crane experience (preferred)

Experience operating Progress, Schnell, Pedax, MEP, Eurobend or similar reinforcement processing equipment will be highly regarded.
