Strategy Advisor

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1200 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG's gas distribution networks.

As part of our Strategy and Sustainability team, you will work across the business to support strategic initiatives that help shape AGIG's future, strengthen our corporate direction and contribute to delivering long-term value for our customers, communities and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Strategy Lead as part of AGIG's Strategy function, you will support the delivery of AGIG's strategic planning program and provide strategic research, analysis and insights that help inform decision-making across the business. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across AGIG, you will contribute to strategic initiatives, energy transition projects and corporate planning activities that support our vision and long-term success.

You will join a multidisciplinary strategy team with experience spanning finance, legal, engineering and commercial disciplines, providing a unique opportunity to work alongside diverse subject matter experts and develop broad strategic perspectives on AGIG's business and the energy transition.

This role offers location flexibility and can be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth.

• Support the delivery and continuous improvement of AGIG's strategic planning program, coordinating strategic planning activities and partnering with stakeholders to help deliver AGIG's strategic priorities.
• Conduct research and analyse emerging trends across the energy sector, including renewable gases, hydrogen, energy transition, gas supply, electrification, data centres, distribution growth opportunities, gas storage and grid emissions intensity, translating insights into practical recommendations.
• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, briefing papers, position papers, submissions and Executive, Committee and Board materials that communicate complex strategic issues in a clear and engaging way.
• Develop strategy and knowledge-sharing materials that communicate AGIG's corporate vision, strategic priorities and energy transition initiatives to internal teams, government, industry and other external stakeholders.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, including hosting strategic stakeholders at AGIG assets, preparing briefing materials, coordinating logistics and supporting follow-up actions to foster strong relationships and positive stakeholder experiences.
• Monitor strategic initiatives, business priorities and external developments, maintaining key resources and supporting governance, periodic reporting and informed decision-making across the organisation.
• Contribute to broader Strategy and Sustainability initiatives, working collaboratively across the business to support projects relating to ESG, community engagement, stakeholder partnerships and the successful delivery of AGIG's strategic objectives.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, economics, law, public policy, engineering, business, finance, energy or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years' experience in strategy, corporate development, policy, infrastructure, consulting, or related advisory functions.
• Well informed on business, economic, political, technological and energy market developments through news, industry publications and other external sources.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information, identify trends and develop practical insights.
• Experience preparing high-quality reports, presentations, briefing papers, submissions or other business communications for a range of audiences.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, coordination and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage competing priorities.
• An understanding of, or genuine interest in, energy markets, infrastructure, policy, regulation and Australia's energy transition.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel, with the ability to develop professional, engaging and visually compelling business materials.
