About the role
Campbell Property Group (CPG), one of Australia’s leading residential construction and property development companies, is seeking an Estimating Cadet for our Domaine Homes team in Norwest.
The Estimating Cadet supports the Estimating Department in Domaine Homes actively engaging in a structured learning program designed to build your knowledge, skills, and capabilities essential to succeed in the residential housing and construction industry. You will take ownership of your development, learn the functions of various estimating roles, and contribute productively to day-to-day operations.
A key focus of the role is on building respectful and collaborative relationships across all levels of the business to foster learning, gain insight, and drive effective outcomes throughout the program.
What You’ll Do

On a Daily Basis, You Will
Demonstrate a mindset of continuous improvement - learning from others, contributing ideas, and striving to be an industry leaderMaintain up-to-date knowledge of company projects, clients, systems, policies, and procedures through active engagement and relationship-buildingStay informed of industry legislation and regulatory changes relevant to the businessActively engage in on-the-job training and apply learning to real-time tasksParticipate in site visits with Building Supervisors to gain practical field knowledgeObserve and understand how Managers implement and monitor key estimating workflows and proceduresAssist with basic production estimating tasks, including generating calculation sheetsCreate BOQs, incorporating client variations from tendersCheck tender documentation, contract drawings, and colour selection schedules for accuracy and consistencyCalculate preliminary profit margins and check subcontractor claims related to variationsSupport timely preparation of production estimates by updating estimating logs and workflowsCollaborate effectively to troubleshoot and resolve preconstruction and on-site issues, supporting the Site Manager and Customer Service Consultants (CSCs) in addressing customer queries and communicating with external contractors/vendors where requiredAnswer all incoming calls promptly and direct to the appropriate personTake messages (name, time of call, nature of business, and person called upon) and direct to the appropriate personOrganise and coordinate any requirements of Estimating and Procurement teamProvide administrative assistance to Estimating Department (e.g. handling correspondence, inputting data, typing, filing, photocopying, faxing, mail outs)Provide administrative assistance with procurement tenders and analysis administrative supportEnter Estimator’s worksheets onto system
About You
This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong communication skills, a strong commitment to compliance, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure the successful execution of tasks even
You Will Also Have
Intention to work in Estimating High with an aptitude in mathematics.A minimum secondary School Certificate – Year 10Currently enrolled in a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Building Studies, Drafting)Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook)Experience using excelAttention to detailAbility to problem solverHonestSelf-starterFriendly and approachable mannerActive ListeningWillingness to LearnSolid Attention to detail
