Assistant Accountant

As our team grows, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the Blue Water Shipping team in our Hamilton (Brisbane) office.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, your role will be to provide accounting support within the Oceania Region. This position has the potential for professional growth and development as our business continues to succeed.   

The objectives of this position include:

• Corporate and transactional financial processing, including AP and AR

• Supplier statement reconciliation

• General ledger coding and reconciliation

• Prepare month-end reconciliations and reports

• Assist with lodgment of Payroll tax, GST, FBT, PAYG and income tax

• Assist with preparation of cashflow forecasts

• Collate and prepare documents for annuals audit

• Assist with payroll processes

• Bank and Credit Card reconciliations
  

 To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Bachelor of Accounting or Finance

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

• Previous experience in a transactional accounting/bookkeeping position

• Experience in an international or regional (APAC) environment would be an advantage

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be able to gain and maintain a Criminal History Clearance
