Heavy Vehicle Driver Trainer

South East Queensland's leading Truck Training School, The Driving School is growing and requires a heavy vehicle driving instructor: 

We will offer a minimum of 30 hours per week. This is a flexible part time role with the expectation we will be able to offer full time hours most weeks. For the right person we are also willing to offer full time. 

• Do you have experience as a Driving Instructor?

• Are you honest, supportive and reliable, with good integrity and a willingness to learn?

• Do you have a good attention to detail, well-developed organisational skills and do you work well with people?

• Are you passionate about teaching others and passing down your industry knowledge and skills to your students?

• Do you have a MC Licence?

• Are you proficient with road ranger gearboxes?

• Do you have a Certificate IV in training and assessment?

• Do you have your driving instructors qualifications? If not we will be able to assist to obtain the appropriate qualification.

• Excellent time organisation.

The Role

• This will be a hands-on teaching role, with some of the required functions including (but not limited to):

• Develop training and lesson program with new students to teach the required skills to reach their goals taking into consideration their current experience and skills.

• Complete one-on-one lessons and courses with students following their training and lesson program preparing them ready for their practical driving test.

• Complete the required administration and record keeping for students for compliance and to demonstrate lessons completed and competencies achieved.

• Manage your day including preparing each day for the lessons and courses booked and complete lessons with good time management.

• Conducting vehicle maintenance as required keeping vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
