About the Role
The Senior Operations Officer is responsible for providing high-level administrative and operational activities to the faculty, while actively collaborating with centralised university and/or embedded teams. This role delivers high-level administrative, facilities and operations support, streamlines processes, and ensures consistent, service delivery. Through advocating operational excellence and fostering partnerships between faculty, divisional administration and centralised services, the Senior Operations Officer drives ongoing service improvement and supports the university’s strategic goals.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:Providing a range of high-level administrative, travel & expense, procurement and project supportCoordinating recruitment activities, contract administration and honorary appointments as well as induction and onboarding activitiesFacilitating health, safety, risk and compliance activities and best practice reviewsCoordinating procurement, managing orders and financial records, ensuring compliance with expenditure policies, and providing procurement system training and support.Providing staff with expert advice on creditor payments ensuring compliance with all relevant taxation, insurance, legal, and procurement policies and guidelines.Management of access, security systems, records and SharePoint for the department.Preparing casual academic employment contracts, liaising with staff, faculty teams and payroll, tracking contract progress, maintaining systems, and providing HR systems training.
With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria: Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make recommendations leading to best outcomes for staff and students.Strong organisational and planning skills with a keen attention to detail, including the ability to prioritise workloads, work under pressure and remain flexible to changing priorities.Demonstrated experience in a similar administrative role in a large, complex and high-pressured environment.Ability to work with limited supervision, and to work with a small team with a willingness to help others.
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $98,792 - $106,966 pa (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis until December 2027
