Sous Chef

Boddington Hotel and Accommodation is seeking an experienced and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef looking for a stable position in a friendly country hotel. The role is available on either a drive-in, drive-out or live-in basis, with accommodation provided on-site.

Key duties

• Assist the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen

• Prepare and present high-quality meals consistently

• Supervise and support kitchen staff during service

• Help develop menus and daily specials

• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation

• Manage stock levels and assist with ordering

• Minimise food waste and control kitchen costs

• Ensure food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards are maintained

• Assist with staff training and kitchen rostering

• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence

About you

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up

• Strong cooking, organisation and time-management skills

• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen

• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements

• Reliable, professional and able to work as part of a team

• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• Relevant cookery qualifications are preferred

• Salary of $70,000–$75,000, depending on experience
