ADA Australia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been advocating for the rights of older people and people with disability for more than 30 years. We provide information, advocacy, education and support to help people understand their rights, navigate complex systems and make informed decisions.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Financial Advocate to join our specialist advocacy team.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position available until 30 June 2028.
About the Role
If you’re looking for a role that combines financial expertise with meaningful social impact, this is a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of older people.
As a Financial Advocate, you’ll use your financial expertise to help older people understand aged care costs, navigate complex financial issues and make informed decisions about their care and services.
You will provide specialist financial advocacy, education and support, helping older people understand fees, charges and financial obligations, while advocating for fair and equitable outcomes.
You will also provide specialist guidance and support to Aged Care Advocates, helping build capability across the organisation and strengthening the support available to aged care consumers.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Abuse of Older Persons & Financial Advocacy, you will work alongside Aged Care Advocates, legal professionals and key stakeholders to improve outcomes for people receiving Commonwealth-funded aged care services. This is an opportunity to contribute to better outcomes for older people during a period of significant reform in aged care.
