Inventory Planner - Despatch

D'Orsogna Limited is seeking an experienced Inventory Planner to join our supply chain team at our Palmyra facility. This is a full-time position based in Palmyra, WA 6157. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and analysing stock to achieve control and rotation of goods in line with customer requirements and MLOR (minimum life on receipt) standards. You will review and direct the movement of stock between sites to suit Customer requirements and orders received, ensuring transparent and accurate stock visibility across our network. This position reports to the Despatch Warehouse Manager and is essential to the smooth functioning of our supply chain and distribution network.

Key responsibilities

1. Plan and analyse stock levels to achieve control and rotation of goods in line with customer requirements and minimum life on receipt (MLOR) standards
2. Review and direct the movement of stock between sites to suit orders received and optimise service levels
3. Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records and ensure transparent stock visibility across the network
4. Monitor stock movements and analyse trends to inform planning decisions and identify potential shortages or excess stock
5. Update systems with outputs from regular inventory counts and review physical versus system records, investigating and resolving discrepancies
6. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory planning accuracy and stock rotation
7. Prepare slow-moving stock reports and recommend action to minimise waste and obsolescence
8. Manage returns processes and their impact on inventory records
9. Collaborate with warehouse, sales and logistics teams to ensure inventory plans align with customer and operational requirements
10. Ensure compliance with health, safety, food safety and environmental regulations as they relate to stock handling and storage

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience in an inventory planning, stock control or supply chain analyst role, ideally within a food, FMCG or manufacturing environment
2. Advanced proficiency with inventory and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and warehouse management systems (WMS), with the ability to interrogate data and produce reports
3. Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and make informed planning decisions
4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining and reviewing inventory records
5. Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management and reporting tools
7. Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with warehouse, sales and supply chain teams across the organisation
8. Knowledge of inventory valuation methods (FIFO, FEFO, weighted averages), stock rotation principles and MLOR requirements
9. Understanding of health and safety and food safety standards relevant to stock handling and storage
10. Experience in the food or manufacturing industry would be advantageous
