About the role
Reporting to the Commercial Development Manager, the Commercial Development Officer supports the design, assessment and delivery of new and enhanced commercial products, projects and services that contribute to Parks Victoria's financial sustainability, visitor experience and strategic objectives. The role assists in identifying, researching and developing opportunities for sustainable commercial ventures, such as tourism experiences, events, leases, licensing, and partnerships—that align with park values, community expectations and environmental obligations. This role leads the delivery of assigned projects to support business viability and market potential aligned with environmental and cultural considerations. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the position provides analytical, coordination and project management support to ensure commercial opportunities are viable, compliant, and effectively implemented. It plays an important role in contributing to the growth and diversification of Parks Victoria's commercial portfolio and capability.
About Parks Victoria
Parks Victoria is a statutory authority of the Victorian Government acting in accordance with the Parks Victoria Act 2018. Parks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria's wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria's coastline. Victoria's parks are home to more than 4,300 native plants and around 1,000 native animal species. Parks Victoria's estate attracts more than 100 million visits every year and we are committed to providing accessible, enjoyable, diverse programs and destinations while protecting and enhancing environmental and cultural values. We work in partnership with Traditional Owners, government and non-government organisations, private landowners, friends' groups, volunteers, licensed tour operators, lessees, research institutes and the broader community to deliver positive environmental, economic and social outcomes for all Victorians.
