Disability Support Worker

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate female Disability Support Worker to join our team supporting a client with complex health and care needs in Coombabah. This support will take place in the client's home working within a 2 staff 24-hour roster 

Individual goals for this young woman are to have experienced caring and compassionate staff to support her complex care needs including medication administration, epilepsy management, enteral feeding, and assistance with minimising the impact of self-injurious behaviour and maintaining her home. 

This position would suit those with a background in nursing, assistant in nursing or previous experience with complex care supports. 

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure clients are supported to maintain choice and control of their goals and follow individual support plans 

• Maintain a record of duties undertaken 

• Flexibility, working weekdays, afternoons, evenings, overnight, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 

• Ensure privacy and confidentiality principles are always maintained 

• Have a proactive and positive approach to supporting clients

• Abide by the organisation and NDIS Code of conduct  

Skills, experience and requirements  

• Epilepsy Training (desirable)

• Peg feed Training (desirable)

• Valid NDIS Worker Clearance (or ability to obtain)

• Valid Blue Card (or ability to obtain)

• Current First Aid & CPR Training

• Relevant rights to work in Australia

Those with a certificate or experience supporting people with a disability are highly regarded.
